This Rock monitor (Varanus albigularis) was brought to the centre on 23 January after having been found in a chicken coop with no food or water. It was severely emaciated and dehydrated. Claudius and Meg put in place a stringent plan to improve the hydration. The monitor responded positively, and in the month that it was at the centre, it doubled in weight and size. It was really a treat to see it move off into the bush in it’s new home.
Meg said “From deaths door back to freedom in a month. Such a privilege to work with this very special case!”
